Bansk Group announced May 28 that its portfolio company, PetIQ, has finalized the sale of VIP Petcare to Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States. The transaction represents a significant milestone in PetIQ’s transition toward becoming a more focused branded pet health and wellness company.
VIP Petcare has become one of the nation’s largest mobile veterinary care providers since Bansk acquired PetIQ in 2024. According to the companies, the business expanded substantially during that period as PetIQ and Bansk worked to scale preventive veterinary care services nationwide.
Strategic Shift Toward Branded Wellness Products
PetIQ said the sale allows the company to sharpen its focus on over-the-counter pet medications, wellness products, and companion animal health brands distributed through retail and e-commerce channels. Its portfolio includes products such as PetArmor®, Capstar®, VetIQ®, Minties®, and Rocco & Roxie®.
Chris Kelly, Senior Partner at Bansk Group, said the transaction reflects the firm’s strategy of building scalable consumer-focused brands and positioning them for long-term growth or strategic acquisition opportunities.
Camillo Pane, CEO of PetIQ, described the transaction as “an exciting new chapter” for the company as it concentrates on expanding its core branded health and wellness business.
Tractor Supply Expands Animal Health Presence
The acquisition further strengthens Tractor Supply’s growing presence in animal health and pet care services. The retailer already operates Petsense by Tractor Supply and owns online pharmacy platform Allivet as part of its broader pet and livestock health ecosystem.
Tractor Supply currently operates more than 2,400 stores across 49 states, along with more than 200 Petsense locations.
