Hill’s Pet Nutrition continued to deliver growth in the second quarter of 2026, contributing higher sales and operating profit despite a challenging operating environment and softer shipment volumes.

According to Colgate-Palmolive’s second-quarter earnings report, Hill’s generated $1.195 billion in net sales, a 3.4% increase compared with the same period last year. Organic sales increased 2.1%, supported primarily by pricing, while reported volume declined modestly. The company noted that the acquisition of Prime100 provided a positive contribution to reported volume during the quarter.

Pet Nutrition Business Remains Profitable

Hill’s reported operating profit of $269 million, up 2% year over year, although operating margin declined slightly to 22.5%. Colgate said the pet nutrition business continues to benefit from premium positioning and ongoing investments in science-led innovation and brand development.

Across the company, Colgate reported second-quarter net sales of $5.36 billion, up 4.9%, while reaffirming its expectation for 1% to 4% organic sales growth for full-year 2026. The outlook includes the previously announced impact from the company’s exit from the private-label pet food business.

Chief Executive Officer Noel Wallace said Colgate plans to continue investing aggressively in advertising and innovation during the second half of the year as part of its long-term growth strategy.

The company also highlighted that Hill’s continues to expand through premium pet nutrition offerings, including the integration of Prime100, as it focuses on strengthening its position in companion animal nutrition.
