The London-based company says it is adapting technologies commonly used in human healthcare—including artificial intelligence, physiological monitoring, and signal processing—to develop validated biomarkers for veterinary medicine.
Built on veterinary and machine learning expertise
Marley Health said its technology combines machine learning expertise from the University of Oxford with clinical studies conducted through the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). The company was founded by leaders with backgrounds spanning Johnson & Johnson, Oxford clinical machine learning, and veterinary medicine.
Its first product will integrate a purpose-built smart collar with companion digital platforms for veterinarians and pet owners. The system is intended to continuously collect health data while translating those measurements into clinically relevant insights.
Initial biomarkers under development include gait, posture, resting heart rate, and respiratory rate, with future work focused on additional physiological indicators that could support earlier disease detection.
Focus on clinically validated insights
Rather than emphasizing consumer wellness metrics, Marley says its platform is being developed around validated veterinary biomarkers and clinical benchmarks designed to support decision-making in practice.
Dr. Amanda Boag, co-founder and chief medical officer, said veterinary professionals need clinically relevant information that has been scientifically validated and can be applied in real-world patient care.
The company plans to begin pilot deployments with veterinary organizations in the United Kingdom to evaluate clinical workflows, user experience, and biomarker validation.
