Hill’s Pet Nutrition is expanding its portfolio with the launch of Science Diet Single Protein Dog Food Rolls, a refrigerated fresh dog food line that represents the company’s first offering in the rapidly growing fresh pet food segment.
According to the company, the new product line was developed to meet increasing consumer interest in fresh feeding while maintaining the science-based nutritional approach that has long defined the Science Diet brand.
Science-backed nutrition in a refrigerated format
The gently steam-cooked rolls feature single animal protein recipes formulated for healthy adult dogs. Hill’s says the diets deliver three primary benefits: highly digestible nutrition to support gut health, omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin E for healthy skin and coat, and complete and balanced nutrition to promote overall health.
The initial product lineup includes Chicken & Brown Rice, Beef & Carrot, and Lamb & Pumpkin.
The rolls can be served as a complete meal, mixed with dry or canned food, or used as a topper.
Rauf Gurbuz, U.S. President and General Manager at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, said the company developed the refrigerated products to provide pet owners with a fresh feeding option supported by decades of nutritional science and veterinary expertise.
Built on veterinary and nutrition expertise
Hill’s noted that nearly 200 veterinarians, PhD nutritionists, and food scientists contribute to the development of its products. The company said every formulation undergoes extensive research, internal testing, and quality and safety protocols before reaching the market.
Dr. Chelsie Estey, U.S. Chief Veterinary Officer at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, said the investment in refrigerated nutrition also addresses demand from veterinarians seeking science-backed fresh food options they can confidently recommend.
