Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine has introduced PVM Pro Tips, a veterinary-guided mobile app designed to help pet owners perform basic at-home care procedures safely and confidently. The app is available for Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad devices.
The app includes instructional content created by Purdue veterinary professionals covering common care tasks such as trimming nails, cleaning ears, bandaging wounds, and administering medications for dogs, cats, horses, and birds. Tutorials include supply checklists, visual aids, and step-by-step instructions.
Purdue said the Apple Vision Pro version uses spatial computing technology to create an immersive learning environment where users can follow veterinary guidance hands-free while caring for animals in real time. The university also released iPhone and iPad versions to expand accessibility for users without Vision Pro devices.
Faculty involved in the project said the platform may eventually support veterinary education and clinical skills training in addition to consumer pet care. Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine is also developing additional applications, including a version focused on equine care.
