Trupanion and veterinary practice management platform Digitail have announced a new integration that brings Trupanion’s Veterinary Portal directly into Digitail’s software, allowing veterinary teams to process insurance claims and receive direct payments within their existing workflow.
The integration enables shared customers to submit eligible claims with a single click while receiving payments through Trupanion’s patented VetDirect Pay™ technology, eliminating the need to switch between multiple platforms during checkout.
Streamlining the payment process
According to the companies, integrating insurance claims into the practice management system is intended to reduce administrative tasks for veterinary staff while simplifying financial discussions with pet owners.
The integration also gives participating hospitals access to Trupanion’s Exam Day Offer, allowing eligible puppies and kittens to receive immediate coverage when activated within 24 hours of a veterinary exam.
Trupanion also cited an internal study indicating that insured pets visit veterinarians twice as often as non-insured pets.
Built into existing veterinary workflows
Digitail’s cloud-based practice management platform includes medical records, scheduling, client communication, billing, payments, reporting, and AI-powered workflows. The addition of Trupanion’s Veterinary Portal allows clinics using both platforms to process insurance claims without leaving the Digitail interface.
