Skiptown is continuing to expand its proprietary SkipOS technology platform as the company grows its footprint in the pet care franchise sector. The company said the updated platform is designed to improve operational efficiency, support franchise profitability, and create a more connected customer experience across its multiple service lines.
The Charlotte-based pet care brand highlighted several recent additions to the platform, including a valet-style drop-off and pickup feature introduced in 2025 for daycare and boarding services. Through the Skiptown mobile app, pet owners can alert staff upon arrival, allowing dogs to be checked in or brought out without customers leaving their vehicles.
According to the company, the feature was developed in response to customer feedback and refined to improve visibility into wait times and staffing needs. Skiptown reported that 95% of drop-offs and pickups are completed in under eight minutes, including wellness checks performed during check-in and checkout.
Technology as a Growth Driver
“SkipOS was intentionally designed with both pet parents and operators in mind, and we’ve continued to evolve it as the business has grown,” said Liz Sims, head of digital product at Skiptown, in the announcement. “Owning the technology allows us to respond quickly to customer feedback, roll out new features faster, and create a more connected and seamless experience from start to finish.”
The company said SkipOS was initially developed in-house to replace legacy software systems and has since evolved into a centralized operating platform supporting daycare, boarding, grooming, dog walking, memberships, and social experiences across multiple markets.
Skiptown also announced additional 2026 platform updates, including a PupCare Plan membership program, an SMS Text Club for promotions and events, and a personalized in-app promotions hub aimed at increasing customer engagement and cross-service utilization.
Data and Operational Insights
According to Skiptown, SkipOS is designed to support franchisees through real-time reporting, operational workflow automation, and pricing optimization tools. The platform also provides integrated booking, check-in, payment, and customer communication capabilities intended to improve retention and long-term customer value.
“Technology is foundational to how we scale,” said Mike Rotondo, CEO of Skiptown. “We’re not tied to third-party systems, which allows us to move faster, scale more effectively, and deliver a more differentiated experience for our valued pets, their parents and our franchisees.”
The company said it continues to invest in proprietary technology as a key differentiator while reporting more than 40% year-over-year revenue growth.
