Chewy Reports 7.3% Sales Growth in Second Quarter, Raises Full-Year Outlook

Chewy reported higher sales, net income and active customer counts for its fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 2, 2026.

Net sales reached $3.33 billion, a 7.3% increase from $3.10 billion in the same quarter last year. Excluding contributions from SmartPak and Modern Animal, sales increased 5.7%, according to the company.

Net income increased 29.8% to $80.5 million from $62 million a year earlier, while net margin increased from 2% to 2.4%. Diluted earnings per share were $0.20, compared with $0.14 in the prior-year quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, increased 23.7% to $226.7 million. Adjusted EBITDA margin rose to 6.8% from 5.9%.

Customers and Autoship sales increase

Chewy reported 21.7 million active customers at the end of the quarter, a 3.8% year-over-year increase. The total includes approximately 43,000 active customers attributable to SmartPak and excludes customer additions related to the Modern Animal acquisition.

Net sales per active customer increased 1.9% to $602.

Autoship customer sales reached $2.82 billion, up 9.3% from $2.58 billion in the prior-year quarter. Autoship accounted for 84.6% of Chewy’s net sales, compared with 83% a year earlier.

Chewy raises outlook

Chewy CEO Sumit Singh said the company’s second-quarter net sales were at the high end of its guidance and its adjusted EBITDA margin exceeded expectations.

The company said its recurring revenue base, customer growth and operating performance led it to raise its full-year revenue and profitability outlook.
