Ethos Veterinary Health is expanding enrollment for its ER ABVP Guided Program, which provides a structured pathway for emergency veterinarians seeking diplomate status through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
The program is open to emergency veterinarians at various career stages, including clinicians who have recently completed internships as well as experienced practitioners interested in pursuing board certification while remaining in practice.
Certification While Remaining in Clinical Practice
Unlike traditional residency programs, the ER ABVP Guided Program is designed to allow participants to continue working in a clinical setting throughout the certification process.
The 36-month pathway combines mentorship, peer collaboration, clinical assessments and professional development activities intended to help veterinarians prepare for board certification while applying advanced knowledge in day-to-day patient care.
Participants complete the program while practicing in one of Ethos Veterinary Health’s network hospitals.
Mentorship and Professional Development
According to Ethos, mentorship is a central component of the program, with participants working alongside experienced clinicians and board-certified veterinarians throughout the certification process.
Dr. Lindsay Renzullo, medical director at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital and a participant in the program, said the structure allowed her to pursue certification while maintaining her existing clinical and leadership responsibilities.
“The ABVP Guided Program appealed to me because it offers both structure and flexibility, providing the support I needed while allowing me to continue in my current role,” Renzullo said.
She noted that mentorship played an important role in her experience and contributed to both clinical development and opportunities to support other emergency veterinarians.
Next Enrollment Cycle Opens in August
Ethos Veterinary Health said enrollment for the next ER ABVP Guided Program cohort will open in August. Interested veterinarians can submit an early expression of interest to receive additional information about the upcoming application cycle.
