VEG ER for Pets has officially partnered with veterinary AI assistant provider VetRec to expand AI-powered medical documentation across its emergency hospital network.
The agreement follows a six-month pilot program that brought together VEG leadership, operations, and clinical teams to adapt VetRec’s technology for the fast-paced environment of emergency veterinary medicine. Insights from the pilot helped shape product enhancements designed specifically for high-volume ER workflows.
VetRec is now active in more than 70% of VEG hospitals, with a full network rollout underway. During the pilot phase, clinicians used the platform across more than 100,000 patient visits, demonstrating rapid adoption of AI-assisted documentation tools.
Reducing Administrative Burden
The partnership complements VEG’s existing scribe program by extending documentation support to more veterinarians and shifts. The companies say the technology helps clinicians spend less time completing records and more time focused on patient care, client communication, and clinical decision-making.
VEG executives said the collaboration aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to improve both employee and customer experiences by modernizing hospital technology and streamlining workflows.
Continued AI Development Planned
The companies expect the partnership to extend beyond documentation, with future development focused on AI tools designed specifically for emergency veterinary settings.
VEG operates more than 130 emergency veterinary hospitals across the United States and Canada.
