Parnell has announced the availability of a new 50 mL presentation of PropofolVet Multidose (propofol injectable emulsion), providing veterinary professionals with an additional option for managing canine anesthesia while improving operational efficiency.
The larger presentation is designed to help practices better align inventory with patient volume and procedural demand. It joins the company’s existing 20 mL format, giving clinics greater flexibility when selecting the appropriate vial size for their workflow.
Designed for Practice Efficiency
PropofolVet Multidose is indicated for induction of anesthesia in dogs, maintenance of general anesthesia through intermittent bolus injections for short procedures, and induction when anesthesia is maintained with inhalant anesthetics.
Like the 20 mL presentation, the new 50 mL vial features a 28-day in-use shelf life and does not require refrigeration, allowing practices to maximize product utilization while simplifying storage and handling.
“Veterinary practices continue to look for ways to improve operational efficiency while delivering excellent patient care,” said Pablo Lamberto, DVM, U.S. general manager at Parnell. “By expanding PropofolVet Multidose with a 50 mL presentation, we are giving clinics another tool to support their anesthesia protocols and manage inventory more effectively.”
Expanding the Anesthesia Portfolio
The new presentation further strengthens Parnell’s anesthesia and sedation portfolio, which also includes dexmedetomidine hydrochloride injection, CONTRASED™ (atipamezole hydrochloride), isoflurane inhalation anesthetic and sevoflurane inhalation anesthetic.
According to the company, PropofolVet Multidose remains the first generic propofol injectable emulsion for dogs and is now available in both 20 mL and 50 mL presentations to support a wider range of veterinary practice needs.
