Sylvester.ai has introduced Connect to Care, a new program designed to help veterinary practices grow their feline caseload by combining targeted digital marketing with AI-powered cat health assessments and integrated appointment scheduling.
The platform is built around the company’s Cat Comfort Check, which uses computer vision technology to evaluate subtle facial expressions associated with feline comfort and discomfort before directing pet owners to participating veterinary clinics.
Combining awareness with appointment scheduling
Under the program, Sylvester.ai manages geo-targeted digital advertising campaigns for participating practices, promoting the Cat Comfort Check to cat owners within a defined geographic area.
After completing an assessment, users can schedule an appointment directly through the Sylvester app with a participating veterinary clinic. Veterinary teams can then review the cat’s assessment history and symptom checker responses through the company’s Practice Portal before the appointment.
According to Sylvester.ai, more than 380,000 images have been analyzed through its AI model. The company said internal user data indicate that approximately 30% of Cat Comfort Checks resulted in a veterinary visit, with 80% of those visits leading to diagnostics or treatment.
Addressing the feline care gap
The launch follows recent CATalyst Council research showing that while the U.S. cat population continues to grow, only about one-third of cats receive annual veterinary care through traditional veterinary practices.
Sylvester.ai said Connect to Care is intended to help practices reach underserved feline patients while providing cat owners with tools to recognize subtle signs of discomfort that often go unnoticed.
Supporting practice growth
The company also pointed to broader industry trends indicating slower growth in companion animal practice visits, particularly among dogs, while feline medicine represents a significant opportunity for organic practice growth.
Gina Fortunato, executive director of CATalyst Council, said improving recognition of feline discomfort and making it easier for caregivers to connect with veterinary care could benefit both veterinary practices and feline patients.
