Lakefield Veterinary Group has launched the Care Beyond Limits Fund, a charitable program that helps pets receive medically necessary veterinary care when financial hardship would otherwise prevent treatment.
Available through Lakefield’s network of more than 80 veterinary hospitals, the program provides financial assistance for eligible patients with treatable conditions and a strong likelihood of recovery. Cases are submitted by participating hospitals and reviewed by an internal committee of licensed veterinarians.
“Veterinary teams are regularly presented with pets in need of life-saving treatment, but their families are not able to afford the care,” said Mollie Hoff, CEO of Lakefield Veterinary Group. “The Care Beyond Limits Fund allows our hospitals to step in during those very difficult times and provide financial assistance that can truly change the outcome for a pet and their family.”
One of the first cases supported by the fund involved a cat named Scrap, who underwent an emergency leg amputation after suffering severe injuries in a coyote attack. According to the company, financial assistance enabled the procedure to move forward and gave the cat a strong chance for recovery.
The Care Beyond Limits Fund expands Lakefield’s charitable initiatives, which also include partnerships supporting veterinary care and volunteer programs in underserved communities.
