The Feline Veterinary Medical Association announced plans for its 2026 Annual Conference, positioning the event as a comprehensive educational and networking experience for veterinary professionals focused on feline medicine. The conference is scheduled for Sept. 24–27, 2026, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
This year’s conference theme, “Whiskers and Wisdom: Senior Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, & Latest Feline Innovations,” will feature expert-led educational sessions designed to provide practical clinical applications for veterinary teams. According to the organization, attendees can earn up to 33 continuing education credits during the event.
Expanded Hands-On Workshops
Among the new additions for 2026 is a feline euthanasia technique workshop covering intravenous, intracardiac, intrahepatic, and intrarenal procedures, alongside guidance on compassionate client communication and memorialization practices.
The conference will also introduce a new veterinarian and technician dental wet lab focused on improving feline dentistry skills in general practice settings.
Additional hands-on training opportunities include orthopedic evaluation workshops for osteoarthritis patients and ultrasound-focused sessions covering point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and guided sampling techniques for common feline diseases.
Focus on Early-Career Veterinary Professionals
The organization said its Feline Veterinarian Bootcamp for recent graduates will return in an expanded format for 2026, including a dedicated full day of immersive instruction and practical training.
A three-day technician track will also return, featuring feline-specific education tailored to veterinary technicians and support staff.
“The FelineVMA Annual Conference is more than just an educational event—it’s where the feline veterinary community comes together to learn, collaborate, and recharge,” said Hazel Carney, DVM, MS, DABVP (Canine/Feline Emeritus), president of the FelineVMA, in the announcement.
