Vets Pets has announced plans to expand its footprint in North Carolina with the opening of Wilson Veterinary Hospital – West, a second location for its longstanding companion animal practice in Wilson. The new hospital is expected to open in summer 2026 and will be located on Raleigh Road Parkway West.
The expansion will be led by Carrie Raymond, DVM, who has spent her entire veterinary career at Wilson Veterinary Hospital since graduating from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Her clinical interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and behavior.
Continuity of care across locations
The original Wilson Veterinary Hospital will continue to operate under the leadership of partner James Lupton, DVM, with both locations maintaining a shared standard of care. Services across the two hospitals will include preventive wellness, vaccinations, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery for companion animals.
The new site is intended to extend access to care while preserving the practice’s longstanding relationships within the community. The hospital has served the Wilson area for more than 50 years.
Growth strategy focused on local leadership
Vets Pets, a cooperative network of small-animal veterinary hospitals, stated that the expansion reflects its model of investing in experienced local veterinarians and supporting practice growth in areas with demonstrated demand for services.
The organization provides operational support, including management, human resources, continuing education, and technology resources, while enabling veterinary partners to focus on clinical care.
The addition of Wilson Veterinary Hospital – West aligns with broader industry trends emphasizing access to care, workforce support, and community-based expansion of veterinary services.
