Hill’s Pet Nutrition has opened registration for its 2026 Global Symposium, a large-scale continuing education event for veterinary professionals that will focus on the relationship between gastrointestinal health and skin disease. The virtual event will take place June 22–24, 2026, with free access available through the Hill’s Veterinary Academy platform.
The symposium will explore the gut–skin axis, including the role of the microbiome in dermatologic conditions, nutritional strategies to support skin barrier function, and emerging insights into allergic disease and immune response. Content will be delivered by more than 10 global experts across dermatology, nutrition, and clinical research.
Focus on dermatology and nutrition science
Keynote speaker Domenico Santoro, DVM, will present on the interaction between the gut microbiome and skin health, particularly in the context of allergic disease. Additional sessions will address updates in canine atopic dermatitis, elimination diet trials in companion animals, and the role of nutrition in maintaining skin integrity.
Research perspectives will also be included, such as findings on hydrolyzed protein diets combined with prebiotic fiber blends and their potential dermatologic benefits in dogs.
Broader clinical and professional themes
The program will also incorporate topics beyond dermatology, including insights into modern feline practice and evolving clinical approaches in companion animal medicine.
The event will be livestreamed globally in multiple languages, with recorded sessions available on demand following the conference. In addition to the virtual format, a live in-person component is scheduled to take place in Phuket, Thailand.
