American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (AACVT) Officially Launches, Ushering in a New Era of Advocacy and Community

SOUTHPORT, NC — The American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (AACVT) today announced its official launch, marking a significant milestone in advancing representation, advocacy, and professional development for credentialed veterinary technicians (CrVTs) across the United States.

SOUTHPORT, NC — The American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (AACVT) today announced its official launch, marking a significant milestone in advancing representation, advocacy, and professional development for credentialed veterinary technicians (CrVTs) across the United States.

The veterinary profession is powered by highly skilled and dedicated technicians who play a critical role in patient care, client education, and clinical outcomes. Yet many credentialed veterinary technicians have reported challenges finding a professional community that fully aligns with their values and supports their long-term growth.

This need became evident to industry leaders Beckie Mossor, MPA, RVT and Ryan Frazier, LVT, BS, MBA, who, after stepping away from an existing national association, engaged extensively with peers across the profession.

Through these conversations, a consistent message emerged: many CrVTs feel underrepresented, disconnected, or overlooked within traditional professional organizations. In response, Mossor and Frazier co-founded AACVT to create a more inclusive, technician-led professional home.

A Member-Driven Vision for the Future

AACVT is founded on a member-led, mission-focused model, with governance exclusively held by credentialed veterinary technicians. This structure ensures that the profession’s direction is shaped by those working within it every day.

The organization is built upon four core pillars:

Advocacy: Advancing recognition, rights, and professional standards for veterinary technicians nationwide.

Leadership Development: Providing mentorship, training, and career growth opportunities.

Education: Delivering continuing education and professional development resources.

Community: Creating an inclusive space for connection, collaboration, and shared experiences.

“AACVT was created to ensure that credentialed veterinary technicians are not only heard, but are leading the conversation,” said Mossor. “This organization reflects the needs, values, and vision of the professionals it serves.”

AACVT Kick-Off Event Scheduled for May 1–3

To celebrate its launch, AACVT will host a three-day Kick-Off Event from May 1 through May 3, designed to foster engagement, education, and community-building:

May 1 – Social & FAQ Session
An interactive session with Mossor and Frazier, offering insight into AACVT’s mission and providing an open forum for questions.

May 2 – Continuing Education & Student Programming
A day dedicated to professional development for veterinary technicians, alongside programming for veterinary students exploring career pathways.

May 3 – Wellness & Community Social
A wellness-focused session led by Rebecca Rose, followed by a community social event for AACVT members.

Looking Ahead

The launch of AACVT represents a transformative step forward for the veterinary technician profession. By prioritizing advocacy, leadership, education, and community, the organization is committed to empowering credentialed veterinary technicians and strengthening their role within the broader veterinary healthcare system.

AACVT invites all credentialed veterinary technicians to join the organization, engage with its initiatives, and help shape the future of the profession.
