Natural Balance is expanding its pet nutrition portfolio with a range of new product launches showcased at Global Pet Expo 2026 in Orlando, Florida. The updates span dog and cat food categories, including wet meals, dry kibble, and functional treats, as the company continues to focus on targeted nutrition and ingredient transparency.
Expanding wet nutrition options
The company introduced its Freshly Cooked line of dog food, featuring shelf-stable, homestyle recipes made with ingredients such as vegetables, pumpkin, and added tuna oil for omega-3 fatty acids. The meals are designed to deliver complete and balanced nutrition while avoiding the inconvenience of refrigerated or frozen storage.
The line includes three recipes and will begin broader distribution this summer, replacing the existing Platefulls range. Both standard and larger resealable pouch formats will be available.
In feline nutrition, Natural Balance is extending its Ultra Protein product line with a new shreds and organ meat format. The recipes incorporate ingredients such as chicken liver, chicken heart, and quail egg to support energy and lean muscle development while appealing to cats’ natural feeding instincts.
Targeting breed-specific needs
Natural Balance is also introducing new formulas designed for dogs based on size, reflecting shifting pet population trends.
For small dogs, the company launched Limited Ingredient Small Breed Cups, offering simplified recipes with single animal proteins to help address food sensitivities. The products are positioned as a wet food complement to its existing dry offerings.
For large-breed dogs, the new Health Protection formula includes added glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support, along with fiber-rich ingredients and probiotics to promote digestive health. The formulation is tailored for dogs weighing more than 60 pounds, with larger kibble size and targeted nutrient levels.
Functional treats enter growing category
The company is also entering the functional treat segment with Yo-Gut Bites, which combine prebiotic fiber, probiotics, and fruit and vegetable ingredients. The treats are designed to support digestive health while aligning with consumer demand for snacks that provide additional nutritional benefits.
Available in multiple flavors, the treats feature a yogurt coating and are manufactured in the United States.
Portfolio strategy and availability
According to company leadership, the new product lineup reflects continued investment in science-backed nutrition and solutions tailored to specific pet health needs. The expansion builds on Natural Balance’s existing focus on limited ingredient diets and veterinary-informed product development.
Several of the new products, including the Ultra Protein cat food, small breed cups, large breed formula, and Yo-Gut Bites, are already available through retail and online channels. The Freshly Cooked line is expected to roll out more broadly starting in June.
Natural Balance, part of Ethos Pet Brands, continues to position itself within the premium pet nutrition category with an emphasis on safety, transparency, and targeted health benefits.
