Leadership Transition at IDEXX
IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDXX), a global leader in pet healthcare innovation, announced that Michael (Mike) Erickson, PhD, has been appointed as the company’s next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 12, 2026. Erickson will succeed Jonathan (Jay) Mazelsky, who will assume the role of Executive Chair of the Board of Directors. Mazelsky plans to retire following the company’s 2027 annual meeting of shareholders, ensuring an extended transition period.
Erickson will also join IDEXX’s Board of Directors when he assumes the CEO position.
Experience and Background
Erickson brings nearly 20 years of leadership in healthcare technology and innovation. Since joining IDEXX in 2011, he has held senior roles spanning diagnostics, software, strategy, and corporate accounts, and currently serves as Executive Vice President and General Manager of IDEXX’s Global Point of Care Diagnostics and Telemedicine businesses. Before IDEXX, Erickson was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, advising major pharmaceutical and health service organizations.
