PALATINE, IL — May 19, 2026 — The Bridge Club, veterinary medicine’s premier think tank, has appointed Theresa Cosper-Roberts, MA, RVT, CVPM, ACVE (DE), as its Chief Veterinary Technician, a role created to ensure technicians have a strong, influential voice in conversations shaping the profession’s future.
Cosper-Roberts brings the veterinary technician perspective to discussions spanning workforce sustainability, professional development, team culture, education, access to care, and leadership. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, emergency and critical care, hospital leadership, practice management, and national speaking, she currently serves as an Instructor of Veterinary Nursing at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and has held roles at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, San Juan College, and National Veterinary Solutions.
“Veterinary technicians are not simply supporting the profession — they are carrying it forward every single day,” said Catherine Haskins, founder of The Bridge Club. “Theresa understands the realities technicians face and brings the credibility and compassion our profession’s hardest conversations require.”
A respected national voice on workforce retention, psychological safety, medical errors, leadership, and diversity and inclusion, Cosper-Roberts has presented at VMX, WVC, AVMA Convention, IVECCS, the Southwest Veterinary Symposium, and many other national meetings.
“Technicians experience the clinical, operational, cultural, and client-facing aspects of veterinary medicine simultaneously — that perspective is essential in every conversation shaping where the profession goes next,” said Cosper-Roberts. “Technicians belong in these conversations by right, not by invitation.”
In her new role, Cosper-Roberts will work with The Bridge Club to strengthen collaboration and ensure veterinary technicians are heard, represented, and empowered. The appointment reflects the organization’s commitment to bringing diverse voices together to drive leadership and innovation across veterinary medicine.
