Instinct Science, developer of the Instinct EMR and resources including Plumb’s and Clinician’s Brief, has announced its acquisition of ScribbleVet, a veterinary AI scribing platform that automates clinical documentation. The move marks an important step in building the next generation of veterinary practice management systems.

Together, the companies plan to create a clinical intelligence platform that integrates documentation, workflow, and decision support into a single, intuitive system—moving beyond information storage to actively support veterinary teams in delivering care.

“We are entering a new and exciting era for veterinary medicine,” said Dr. Caleb Frankel, Founder and CEO of Instinct Science. “Thoughtfully designed AI and ambient medical note technology are core to this future. By combining best-in-class AI, workflow, and clinical decision support, we are redefining what practice management software should be.”

The combined system will allow veterinary professionals to:

  • Focus on patient care with AI scribing built directly into workflows.
  • Reduce documentation time and administrative friction.
  • Access trusted clinical decision support, including Plumb’s, at the point of care.
  • Work within a single, cohesive platform designed for all team members.
  • Receive comprehensive support from a unified team.

ScribbleVet founder and CEO Rohan Relan will take on a leadership role at Instinct, guiding the product strategy for intelligence-driven features.

“ScribbleVet was built to give veterinarians their time back,” Relan said. “With Instinct, we can create a system where intelligence is naturally integrated into how veterinary teams work every day.”

Current customers of both companies will see no immediate changes, though future integrations will unify AI scribing, workflow, and clinical intelligence. ScribbleVet will also become the first AI scribe powered by Plumb’s, while continuing to support multiple PIMS integrations.

The acquisition reflects Instinct’s continued investment in practical, intelligence-enhanced tools that support veterinary teams and streamline patient care.
